Account Settings
Learn how to manage your personal Optare account settings.
Profile Settings
Viewing Your Profile
- Click your avatar (top right)
- Click "Profile" or go to Settings → Profile
Updating Profile Information
- Full Name - Your display name
- Email Address - Primary email (used for login)
- Phone Number - Optional contact number
- Profile Picture - Upload an avatar image
To update:
- Edit the fields
- Click "Save Changes"
- Changes reflect immediately
Email Verification
If you change your email:
- Enter new email address
- Click "Save"
- Check new email for verification link
- Click link to confirm
- New email becomes active
Password Management
Changing Your Password
- Go to Settings → Security → Change Password"
- Enter:
- Current password
- New password
- Confirm new password
- Click "Change Password"
Password Requirements
- Minimum 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
Forgot Password?
- Go to login page
- Click "Forgot Password"
- Enter your email
- Check email for reset link
- Click link and set new password
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Why Enable 2FA?
- Extra security - Requires code + password
- Protects from - Password theft, phishing
- Recommended for - All users, especially admins
Enabling 2FA
- Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication
- Click "Enable 2FA"
- Choose method:
Authenticator App (Recommended)
- Download an authenticator app:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Scan the QR code with your app
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in app
- Click "Verify and Enable"
- Save backup codes (important!)
SMS (Less Secure)
- Enter your phone number
- Receive verification code via SMS
- Enter code
- Click "Verify and Enable"
Backup Codes
When enabling 2FA, you'll receive 10 backup codes.
Important:
- Each code can be used once
- Store securely (password manager or printed)
- Use if you lose access to 2FA device
- Generate new codes anytime in Security settings
Using 2FA
After enabling, when you log in:
- Enter email and password
- You'll be prompted for 2FA code
- Open your authenticator app
- Enter the current 6-digit code
- Click "Verify"
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Settings → Security
- Click "Disable 2FA"
- Enter your password
- Enter current 2FA code
- Confirm disable
Session Management
View Active Sessions
- Go to Settings → Security → Sessions
- See all devices where you're logged in:
- Device type (Desktop, Mobile)
- Browser
- IP address
- Location (approximate)
- Last active time
Logout from Other Devices
Logout Single Session:
- Find the session in the list
- Click "Logout" next to it
- That device is logged out
Logout All Other Sessions:
- Click "Logout All Other Sessions"
- Confirm
- All devices except current logged out
Use this if:
- You think your account may be compromised
- You left a session open on public computer
- You want to ensure only you have access
Login History
View Login History
- Go to Settings → Security → Login History"
- See recent logins:
- Date and time
- Device info
- Browser
- IP address
- Location
- Success/Failed status
Suspicious Activity?
If you see a login you don't recognize:
- Change your password immediately
- Enable 2FA if not already enabled
- Logout all other sessions
- Contact support@optare.one
Managing Email Addresses
Adding Secondary Emails
- Go to Settings → Email Addresses
- Click "Add Email"
- Enter new email address
- Check that inbox for verification link
- Click link to verify
Benefits of Multiple Emails
- Backup login method
- Different emails for different orgs
- Receive notifications at multiple addresses
Setting Primary Email
- Go to Email Addresses
- Find email you want as primary
- Click "Make Primary"
- This becomes your login email
Removing an Email
- Find the email in list
- Click "Remove"
- Confirm removal
Note: Cannot remove primary email. Make another email primary first.
Notifications
Email Notifications
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Choose what emails you want to receive:
- Account security alerts
- Organization invitations
- Subscription updates
- Product announcements
- Marketing emails
Notification Preferences
- All notifications - Get everything
- Security only - Just security alerts
- None - Minimal notifications
Note: Critical security notifications cannot be disabled.
Deleting Your Account
Before You Delete
- Permanent action - Cannot be undone
- Data deleted - Profile, history, settings
- Organizations - You'll be removed from all orgs
- Subscriptions - If you're owner, they'll be cancelled
How to Delete
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to "Delete Account"
- Click "Delete My Account"
- Enter your password
- Type "DELETE" to confirm
- Click final confirmation
After Deletion
- Account deleted within 24 hours
- Confirmation email sent
- Cannot login anymore
- Can create new account with same email after 30 days
Privacy & Data
Data We Collect
- Profile information (name, email, phone)
- Login history (IP, device, location)
- Usage data (features used, pages visited)
- Organization data (if you're a member)
Your Data Rights
- Access - Request copy of your data
- Export - Download your information
- Delete - Remove your account
- Correct - Update incorrect information
Data Export
- Go to Settings → Privacy
- Click "Export My Data"
- Receive email when ready (can take up to 48 hours)
- Download ZIP file

- Profile information
- Organization memberships
- Connected apps
- Login history

Security

Troubleshooting
###Lost access to 2FA device?
- Use backup codes
- If no codes, contact support with ID verification
Can't change email?
- Verify you're entering correct current password
- Check new email isn't already in use
- Email must be valid format
Not receiving emails?
- Check spam/junk folder
- Verify email address is correct
- Add noreply@optare.one to contacts
